Silk Rainbow was born out of a frantic need to craft. One day, two perfectly happy crafters, Karen and Judy got this irresistible urge to create something for their Christmas trees. Now their trees were very pretty all decorated with lights and ornaments but Karen and Judy wanted something really special. They wanted beaded Christmas ornaments, just like the ones Grandmother used to have on her tree. Out shopping, excitedly, for supplies they went. From store to crowded store they went but still they couldn't find any satin Styrofoam Christmas balls where upon they could stick their beads. After searching high and low, alas, none were to be found.

With the need to craft burning deep inside their hearts, Karen and Judy decided to change the search and look for kits or designs since they couldn't find all of their supplies outright. Again, they came up empty handed, more frustrated than ever, and with all of the pin choices available … who knew what size pin would fit in a seed bead.
